MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) suspended on Monday, September 1, classes in all levels and government work in 17 areas due to persistent heavy rains.
The suspension order covers Metro Manila, Albay, Antique, Bulacan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Cavite, Laguna, Masbate, Negros Occidental, Northern Samar, Occidental Mindoro, Pampanga, Quezon, Rizal, and Sorsogon.
In its advisory, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported widespread downpour in several regions, prompting warnings of possible flooding in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, and Bulacan.
